For college graduates, the big question is, "What's next?" Fashion designer Ashley Zygmunt is using what she learned during her year at the Chicago Fashion Incubator to open a new studio and showroom for her women's clothing line, Zamrie.

Chicago native Zygmunt spent several years in New York, interning for Zac Posen and Peter Som, but eventually, she says, "I was tired of getting coffee." As a result of her experience with the CFI, which includes seminars on marketing and other business-related aspects of the industry, Zygmunt has altered her plan of "trying to do everything" and starting with her fall 2010 collection will focus on women's blouses. Despite the economy, she says she feels "pretty confident" about the line, pointing out that some stores have already reordered pieces from her spring collection.

Zygmunt will show pieces from the spring collection and take orders for the fall collection, which she says is "inspired by the dark side of 'Beauty and the Beast,'" at her studio, 1213 W. Diversey, on Thursday, April 15 from 5 to 9:30.
