  • "Between Floors"

Austin cinematographer and 1999 Columbia College grad Jen White makes her feature directorial debut with Between Floors, a film set entirely on five stuck elevators.

"Each elevator becomes an existential purgatory, forcing its occupants to not only confront their isolation, but themselves and each other in varied and unexpected ways," writes White, who won best director at the Atlanta Underground Film Festival.

Between Floors screens for free, Thursday 2/25 at Columbia College.

For her next film, White is developing another ensemble piece, this time set on the El, with the working title Loop'd. The script is by Columbia prof Ron Falzone, whom White calls her mentor. Falzone will moderate a Q-and-A with White after the screening of Between Floors. See the trailer here.

Thursday 2/25 at 7 PM at Columbia College Ferguson Auditorium, 600 S. Michigan.
