Pitchfork Starts Its Lineup Tease

The Pitchfork Music Festival, July 16-18 in Union Park, announced its first batch of performers today. Big names include Modest Mouse on Friday, LCD Soundsytem and Raekwon on Saturday, and Pavement and St. Vincent on Sunday.

Sunday's lineup also features Cass McCombs, Here We Go Magic, Sleigh Bells, and the incomparable Lightning Bolt (my "hell yeah!" announcement thus far). It looks like I'll be soldiering all the way through Sunday for the first time ever.

Tickets go on sale today at noon; three-day passes run $90 and single-day tickets are $40.

For more Pitchfork speculation (including a few guesses proved right so far) check out the prophetic conversation between my colleagues Miles Raymer and Jessica Hopper.
