Tucson filmmaker Steev Hise examines the economic and social conditions surrounding the unsolved murders of hundreds of women in the border city of Juarez, Mexico since 1993, many of them walking home from jobs at American factories, in his 2006 documentary On the Edge.

On the Edge screens Thursday 1/28 at Biblioteca Popular.

This is part of Biblioteca Popular's "Films of Rebellion: Towards 2010" series, marking the centennial of the Mexican Revolution this year.

The screening is Thursday 1/28 at 7 PM at Biblioteca Popular, 1921 S. Blue Island. Donations welcome. Doors open at 5 PM to accommodate attendees of the National Museum of Mexican Art's Women of Juarez exhibit, which runs until 5 PM at 1852 W. 19th St.
