Today and every Wednesday year-round, Clarke House Museum (1827 S. Indiana) and Glessner House (1800 S. Prairie) are giving free hour-long tours between noon and 4 PM. Built in 1886 by Henry Hobson Richardson, and designated as a national historic landmark, the Glessner House is home to an 1887 piano from Steinway & Sons, Art Nouveau glass pieces and other decorative arts objects and furniture. Built in 1836, the Clarke House is Chicago's oldest surviving building and houses many artifacts from the time of its construction. Tours of the Clarke House are at noon and 2 PM, and tours of the Glessner House are at 1 PM and 3 PM. Tours begin at the Glessner House and are limited to 12 people on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the museum opening at 11:30 AM.
