Deeper Into the Chris Thomson Tapes: Getaway Car

In my recent profile of Chunklet founder Henry Owings, who's in the process of archiving all the vintage punk and indie rarities he can get his hands on, I mentioned that the stash given to him by former Circus Lupus/Monorchid/Red Eyed Legends front man Chris Thomson included material by a band called Getaway Car. Owings had never heard of the short-lived group, which is seriously surprising considering that its members were also in Fugazi, Rites of Spring, and the Delta 72, among others. He promised me that when I heard the tape it would blow my mind. Yesterday he posted MP3s of a Getaway Car soundboard tape from a 1993 performance at D.C.'s 9:30 Club, and he was correct. Fans of the aforementioned groups, as well as of the Royal Trux (and of skewed rock 'n' roll in general), are highly encouraged to check it out.
