Inspired by this 2008 video on how to tie a winter scarf that Time Out recently re-ran on its blog, I sought out some other instructional resources to help you achieve Parisian flair with les écharpes. Here are some of the best:

How to Wear a Scarf in 5 Ways—some interesting approaches here along with head wraps, although the presenter doesn't give viewers long enough to really see how they look.

Scarf Tying 101 from Modcloth.com: some new versions plus old standbys here, although I suspect some of these looks might be easily dislodged.

Mireille Guiliano, author of French Women Don't Get Fat, has a series of videos on scarf style that mostly offer pretty basic ideas, but here's a good one about belting a wide scarf to create a sort of jacket.

Blogger, writer, and Paris resident Gillian Young offers more tips on French-style foulard tying with a nicely shot and edited short video.

Finally, no video, but the blogger at Une Femme d'un Certain Age offers lots of inspiring photos of scarves tied just so.
