The week between Christmas and New Year's is often a dead zone for show announcements, and this year is no exception. But while many promoters and venues are taking the holidays off, I'm still diligently scrounging up Early Warnings for you, the concertgoing public. Check out this week's reasonably comprehensive list after the jump:

Findlay Brown at Schubas on January 25
Capitalist Casualties and Verbal Abuse at Reggie's Rock Club on May 14
Chieftains at the Symphony Center on March 7
Billy Corgan & Matt Walker at LaSalle Power Co. on February 18
Gilberto Gil at the Symphony Center on April 2
Pat Metheny at the Symphony Center on May 10
Orphaned Land with Indian at Bottom Lounge on March 14
Shellac with the Ex at Lincoln Hall on March 20
Woods with Real Estate at Lincoln Hall on March 15

And don't forget about the Tomorrow Never Knows festival, which runs Wednesday, January 13, through Sunday, January 17. Presented by Schubas and Lincoln Hall, it's one of the highlights of Chicago's brutal winter, offering an abundance of established and up-and-coming indie rock, pop, and even soul, including acts like the Cribs, Surfer Blood, Lee Fields, Voxtrot, Atlas Sound, and Final Fantasy.

There's a much bigger list of upcoming shows on the Reader's Early Warnings page. You can also sign up for a weekly Early Warnings e-mail blast.
