Paciugos uncompromising potty policy
  • Paciugo's uncompromising potty policy

We refuse to be broken by the grueling pace of restaurant openings. In addition to featured reviews of Chilam Balam, Rustico Grill, and Elate this week, there are nine new reviews in the listings.

David Hammond's dismal experience at the Mexican Cosina Grill is more than compensated for by a successful Italian omakase at Ciao Amore Ristorante. Julia Thiel works her way through the offerings at the Las Tablas offshoot Macondo Colombian Coffee and Empanadas and finds the familiar at Pannenkoeken Cafe's Wicker Park satellite. Kate Schmidt beseeches customers who abandoned Rique's to try its replacement, Rolis Restaurant, and worries for the sparsely frequented Paprika, which is turning out solid, if timidly spiced, homestyle Indian food. Anne Spiselman finds satisfaction in the standards at Kyu Sushi and calls the tiny Jefferson Park Moroccan spot Shokran "a real find." And finally, I recommend taking your time to find the gems at the local outpost of Dallas-based gelato chain Paciugo.
