Brothers Shawn and Mark Stern of LA punk band Youth Brigade founded BYO Records in 1982 out of the roots of the punk activist Better Youth Organization. They went on to release records by Social Distortion, 7 Seconds, NOFX and Rancid. Jeff Alulis's (aka Jeff Penalty of the Dead Kennedys) documentary Let Them Know: The Story of Youth Brigade and BYO Records, screens Saturday 10/10 as part of Riot Fest, in advance of Youth Brigade's show that night with NOFX at the Congress Theater.

Let Them Know was produced to celebrate BYO's 25th anniversary in 2007. It features Ian MacKaye of Fugazi, Fat Mike of NOFX, Steve Soto of Adolescents, and Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio.

Let Them Know screens Saturday 10/10 at 3 PM at the Viaduct Theatre, 3111 N. Western. $7; $7 with Riot Fest badge.
