Adeel Alam is a devout Muslim in real life, but on the independent professional wrestling circuit, he portrays the heel Mustafa Ali, half of the duo Team Taliban. Benjamin Kegan follows Alam's turmoil over the implications of his character in the 12-minute documentary Team Taliban, screening Saturday 10/10 in the Chicago International Film Festival.

Team Taliban screens as part of the Illinoi[s]emakers local shorts program. Also on the bill: Brad Bischoff's Wet, about a young man pursued by rainclouds; Erik Gernand's Non-Love-Song, about two college bound friends trying to relate as adults; Alex LeMay's Good People, about a woman searching for the author of a suicide note; Zev Frank's sci-fi Cycle, set in a post-automotive world; and Alex Hans Hansen's Public Speaking, about a high schooler seeking oratorical inspiration from Ronald Reagan.

Illinoi[s]emakers plays Saturday 10/10 at 2:45 PM, Saturday 10/17 at 12:15 PM, and Tuesday 10/20 at 6:15 PM at AMC River East, 322 E. Illinois.
