Pivot, the city's first boutique dedicated to fashionable, environmentally sustainable clothing, is closing after two years.

Owner Jessa Brinkmeyer has been a driving force behind the increasing awareness and appreciation of environmentally friendly fashion and a great supporter of the local fashion scene, but she says the difficulties with the economy and the demands of running a storefront have become too great for her to continue. She doesn't know what she'll do next but says she plans on keeping the brand alive in some way.

The store is holding a closing sale until October 31. New fall items are 20 to 50 percent off and merch from past seasons is up to 90 percent off. A trunk show next Thursday for designer Lara Miller is still on.
