Cameron Todd Willingham: it only gets worse

You might remember that, a few weeks ago, Michael Miner wrote about the Cameron Todd Willingham story, originally broken by Steve Mills and Maurice Possley of/then of the Tribune. More recently it was covered by the New Yorker, Bob Herbert, and many other people and publications.

Anyway, now that the ball is back in Gov. Rick Perry's court, the story is only getting stranger. Dahlia Lithwick, one of my favorite writers, has more: "In Scalia's America, the Cameron Todd Willingham whose very existence was once in doubt is today constitutionally immaterial. Having waited decades for an innocent victim of capital punishment, the fact that we have finally found one won't matter at all. "
