Mad City Chickens

  • "Mad City Chickens"

Since Madison legalized backyard chicken coops in 2004, a self-proclaimed Poultry Underground has arisen, touting the benefits of raising one's own food and challenging negative associations of urban chicken raising (butchering and roosters are stilled banned outside residential properties in Madison).

UIC alum Tashai Lovington and Robert Lughai's documentary about the Madison chicken raising scene, Mad City Chickens, screens for free this Wednesday 9/23 at the Evanston Public Library.

It's presented by Reeltime Independent Film and Video Forum in association with the Evanston Food Policy Council and Angelic Organics Learning Center.

Mad City Chickens screens Wednesday 9/23 at 7:30 PM at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington.
