Botnik!

  • Botnik!

A ladder winding its way into the sky. Heavy slabs of wood woven like fabric. Jerzy Kenar's twisted wood sculptures are iconic in East Village. Fellow Polish expat Christopher Swider documents Kenar's installation of a 100-foot painted canvas suspended over the skyline in Jerzy Kenar Dancing Colors, screening Saturday 8/29 in the Bucktown Arts Fest.

Jacqueline Smessaert Brennan takes a different approach to her portrait of an artist in her animated short Botnik!, about a man whose mail order robot turns on him during preparations for a gallery opening.

And in Mark Taylor's Hooking Up, "a couple get together for a date at a surprising location."

The screenings are Saturday 8/29 at 7:30 PM at the Bucktown Arts Fest, Senior Citizens Park, 2200 N. Oakley.
