The Trib has a good feature package on the Daley administration's troubles with transparency, something that's obviously been a sore subject here for a long time and a key part of Ben Joravsky and Mick Dumke's reporting on the privatization of city parking meters. Kudos to

Between their reporting, the TIF Sunshine ordinance, City Council's desire to re-examine the parking meter deal, and now this high-profile Trib project (nice to see it above the fold for a couple days)... I'm encouraged. But it's worth keeping in mind how much pressure it takes, and how long Ben Joravsky has been writing about TIFs. Don't let up.

Now, by the way, would be a fine time to check our City Council guide, and Dumke and Joravsky's report card for the council rookies
