A theater company adapts a book by a political writer who was shot by a right-wing crackpot. Collaborators fall in and out of love. And "the four intertwining stories all deal with fringe artists questioning their work," says Richard Paro, writer/director of the locally-made film Mass Romantic, which has an encore Chicago engagement and advance DVD release on Thursday (the official DVD release is in June).

Mass Romantic features performances by Head of Femur, Carrie Lydon, Kate Brown, and ROFO.  Paro and his producing and editing partner, costar Cyra K. Polizzi, will be on hand for a screening, along with other members of the cast and crew on Thursday at Landmark's Century Centre, 2828 N. Clark. Doors at 6 PM, meet and greet at 6:30, screening at 7:30. Tickets are $10. Advance tickets at, or cash only at the door.
