Evanston swamp rockers The Howlin’ Tumbleweeds host the first Muddy River Film Festival this Friday at the Viaduct Theater.

Here’s the lineup of short films:

Danny Plotnick's ode to late 20th century counterculture Out of Print

Lisa Barcy's meditative animation Mermaid

Anthony Williams's horror pic The Sanguine Woods

Jerzy Rose's World War II-style sci-fi The Universe & Young Pilot Nelson

Joe DeJulius, Matt Kelley, Scott Lynch and Joe Avella's time-travel detective farce FutureCop 2010

Anna Peterson's The Furnace Room/What The Devil

Bradley Bischoff's lovesick artist's daydream Eyelids

The Muddy River Film Festival is Friday at 9 PM at the Viaduct Theater, 3111 N. Western.  Also featuring local roots rockers The Canoes, “live and uncensored.”  $7.  18 & over.
