The list grows

As of this morning, 26 people have filed petitions with the state board of elections to get on the ballot for the March 3 primaries in the Fifth Congressional District. Here's the list, from the earliest to most recent filings:

* John Fritchey, state rep

* Justin Oberman, former federal official, son of former alderman Marty Oberman

* Charles Wheelan, University of Chicago lecturer

* Victor Forys, physician

* Pete Dagher, former Clinton administration official, congressional candidate who lost to Rahm Emanuel in 2002

* Jan Donatelli, pilot, union activist

* Frank Annunzio, CHA official and grand-nephew of former congressman Frank Annunzio

* Carlos Monteagudo, Chicago resident

* Paul Bryar, physician, Northwestern University med school prof 

* Roger Thompson III, Chicago resident

* Tom Geoghegan, labor lawyer

* Cary Capparelli, marketing consultant, son of northwest side boss Ralph Capparelli 

* Mike Quigley, Cook County commissioner

* Patrick O'Connor, alderman of the 40th Ward

 

REPUBLICANS:

* Tom Hanson, commercial realtor

* Jon Stewart, former professional wrestler, motivational speaker, Tenth Congressional District candidate
