Tuesday at noon, the Museum of Contemporary Art's associate curator, Julie Rodrigues Widholm, leads a free tour through Joseph Grigley's St. Cecilia. The Chicago-based artist, who's been deaf since childhood, describes the work as "a project based on our infinite capacity for misunderstanding each other." In the video installation, a choir sings two versions of popular Christmas carols: one with the standard lyrics, the other with nonsensical lyrics based on misreadings by lip-readers. Also on display is We're Bantering Drunkening About What's Important in Life, which creates a visual interpretation of conversation out of scraps Grigley's collected over dozens of years. Museum admission is free on Tuesdays; for basic information see the Reader's listing for the MCA here.
