Shame on me for almost missing this: Columbia College's Creative Nonfiction Week runs through Thursday.

Also notable:

* Louise Glück tonight (in less than an hour!) at Harold Washington Library

* David Macaulay tomorrow, same place; if you haven't seen The Way Things Work, you're missing out

* Seymour Hersh, one of America's great journalists, Thursday at NU (Update: A recent profile of Hersh)

* Steve Coll (Ghost Wars is an amazing book about the origins of Al Qaeda vis a vis American foreign policy), Thursday at the Pritzker Military Library

* John T. Cacioppo and William Patrick, Thursday at 57th St. Books; Loneliness is on my medium-term reading list
