Stop by Danny's Tavern (1951 W. Dickens) at 10 PM Tuesday for DJ sets from Nina Ramone and Fun Boy Five at the second anniversary party for Off Chances, described by organizers "less as a normal dance party and more as a laid-back social and safe space for queer folks and allies." Off Chances DJs usually bring along 30 mix CDs--past ones feature everything from Feist to Aaliyah to Black Sabbath to Kool Keith, and many are now available here as podcasts--to give out to patrons. The Off Chances crew also brings home-cooked food--usually, though not exclusively, vegan pastries. There's no cover and no charge for the food or mix CDs, but you must be 21 or over.
