Can't make it to see Joanna Newsom next month at the CSO. At least I know I won't be missing her perform "Sadie" (nb: M. Ward cover).

I know the world has mixed feelings about Joanna Newsom, so all I'll say is that a blend of Appalachian, classical, and 60s-70s orchestral folk-pop was pretty much designed for someone like me who went to kind of a hippie school in southwestern Virginia. Her use of $5 words can be a bit much, what with all the other stuff going on, but it's a small price to pay.

PS: Did You Know? She plays Lyon & Healy harps, which are made at 168 N. Ogden.
