When genetic testing revealed filmmaker Joanna Rudnick was at very high risk of developing ovarian and breast cancer, she was confronted with a series of treatment options that might prolong her life but not without serious sacrifices. She documents her experience, as well as that of other women in similar circumstances, in her new documentary, In the Family, which has two free screenings in Chicago this week ahead of its Oct. 7 broadcast on the PBS series P.O.V.

The first screening is tonight at 7 PM at Northwestern University's Thorne Auditorium in the Arthur Rubloff Building (375 E. Chicago). The second is Wednesday, also at 7 PM, at the Evanston campus's Ryan Family Auditorium (2145 Sheridan).

No tickets required. Call 312-503-5600 or e-mail orcgm@northwestern.edu for more
