Swifter, higher, less screwed up

One resident said, “with all the violence going on, who’s gonna want to come here when people are getting shot left and right”, while another called it “humiliating” and “embarrassing for our city”.

If the 2016 Olympics are our presumed reward for remaking ourselves as a competent 21st century metropolis in order to woo the IOC, then I guess there are worse things than working to build a safe city with good transportation for the elite hammer-throwers of the next decade. It's more dignified than bragging about our comparatively low dengue fever rates. (Via Gapers Block.)
