"Blackwater Invades Illinois" screening tonight

Lincoln Park Neighbors United for Peace is hosting a free screening of Blackwater Invades Illinois, featuring Jeremy Scahill, author of Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army, at the DePaul Art Museum tonight at 7 PM. The program will include a discussion with Bill Barclay of the Oak Park Coalition for Truth and Justice. For details, call 312-927-2689 or e-mail lpnu@netlumina.co.

While at the museum, you can also check out Philadelphia artist Daniel Heyman's "Abu Ghraib Detainee Interview Project." Heyman sat in on interviews with former prison detainees--all of whom were released without charges--and incorporated their testimony into spare portraits like the one below.
