Every year the great Web 'zine The Morning News hosts The Tournament of Books, a democratic, March Madness bracket-style alternative to stuffier book awards. And, like March Madness, you can bet on the winner over at Coudal; the money goes to buy books for kids, and if you win you get "a huge prize package." Since the prize package comes from Coudal it will probably rule. Full disclosure: my money's on The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (even though I wasn't a huge fan) and Tree of Smoke.
