Gapers Block beat me to the punch on this one, but per Yo Chicago, the new East Village coffee shop Blend is run by a founder of the abstinence advocacy group Project Reality. Per the Blend web site, the shop's mission is to "nourish diversity and human contact, create a sense of place and community, invoke civic pride, promote companionship, provide respite for the exhausted and overworked, encourage sociability instead of isolation, make life more vibrant, and provide a much needed safe place for young people who seek to flee from the everyday dangers they encounter." For another take on Project Reality see Kate Hawley's 2005 feature story in the Reader (pdf).
