The circle of life

The recent authentication of Anna Nicole Smith's babydaddy reminded me of the one truly moving thing I read about the whole affair.

It's a poem. Don't laugh.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH (1967-2007)

You said you wanted
to make a name
for yourself.

What kind of name?
They asked.
Anna Nicole Smith,

you replied
in a tiny voice—then found

a husband’s worth
of love in a man
named Howard Stern

who, not a DJ,
knew the logic
of your reply.
