Slate.com's Timothy Noah has opened the mailboxes for submissions to the Obama Messiah Watch, encouraging readers to send in examples of "gratuitously adoring biographical details" in Barack Obama's press coverage, just in case he might be "the second coming of our Savior and our Redeemer, Prince of Peace and King of Kings, Jesus Christ." Irony-challenged readers need not respond.

After reading Brendan Nyhan's review of some recent "pathological" Hillary Clinton coverage, we may also need a Beelzebub Watch.

Sam Smith makes a case for a candidate with human-scale virtues and vices, John Edwards.
