The Farwell Building will not be skinned, for now anyway

Lynn Becker reports the failure of the proposal to demolish the guts of the landmarked Farwell Building on Michigan Avenue and replace them with a parking deck clad in its skin. The motion got only four of eight possible votes at the Commission on Chicago Landmarks--not the required majority of members present at the session. Read his post.
