I'm really conflicted about this T-shirt company. If you're a rock geek it's impossible to deny how rad it is that you can now buy a vintage-style Creem shirt, which puts you just one fake mustache and a few bottles of cough syrup away from a perfect Lester Bangs Halloween costume. And if you're a rock geek with a mild case of OCD there's a deep satisfaction in knowing that the re-creation of Gram Parsons's iron-on letter shirt will have all of the letters in their appropriate, imperfect positions. But isn't it weird to consider spending 40 bucks on a replica of a hand-designed shirt that was purchased in the first place because of its low cost and inherent uniqueness? Doesn't that go beyond missing the point and move into doing the opposite of the point?
