issue of the Reader also includes short or long features on arts-related
topics, and almost every film, theater, dance, literary, or arts festival
is given special coverage.
- 69% of Reader readers read the reviews regularly,
73% read the movie listings, 38% read the theater and dance listings,
and 34% read the gallery & museum listings.
- 92% have been to the movies in the last 12 months.
They've gone an average of 15.6 times.
- 48% bought DVDs in the past year; they bought an
average of 9.1.
- 61% went to the theater in the past year (national
figure 15%); they did so an average of 5.9 times. 61% of Reader
and Reader's Guide readers who went to the theater do not read
the Tribune's Friday section regularly; these people went an average
of 5.3 times. That's almost 13,000 tickets bought every week by
Reader and Readers' Guide readers who don't read the Friday section.
- 31% went to a dance performance (national figure
4%); they did so an average of 2.6 times.
- 80% of readers attended an art gallery or museum
in the past 12 months; they did so an average of 6.4 times.
Most importantly, 65% of readers bought products
or services in the last 3 months because they saw them advertised
in the Reader or The Reader's Guide. They did so an average of 5
