critics' choices AMERICAN PLAYERS THEATRE
This hilltop theater in Spring Green, Wisconsin -- 40 miles west of Madison and a stone's throw from Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin and House on the Rock -- presents five classic plays under the stars each season. As usual the lineup is heavy on the Bard, with Much Ado About Nothing, The Merchant of Venice, and Timon of Athens in rotating rep with George Bernard Shaw's Misalliance and Tennessee Williams's The Night of the Iguana. The complete schedule can be found on the theater's Web site, which even indicates which nights there's a full moon. --> 5950 Golf Course Rd. | Spring Green | Sat 6/9-Sun 10/7: Tue-Thu 7:30 PM, Fri 8 PM, Sat 3 and 8 PM, Sun 6 PM | 608-588-2361 | playinthewoods.org | $35-$53. --Martha Bayne
