Chicago Anarchist Film Festival
May 1, 2008
The eighth annual Chicago Anarchist Film Festival runs Friday through Sunday, May 2 through 4, at Centro Autonomo, 3460 W. Lawrence. Friday’s program begins at 7 PM with The Internationale, Peter Miller’s history of the revolutionary anthem, and also includes History of Oil, a collection of comedy skits and stand-up by Robert Newman. Saturday’s program begins at 12:30 PM and includes Scooter Twomey’s satirical short Torture Is Us: The Road to Hell and Ray Wallacer’s punk-rock documentary The Day the Country Died. The Sunday program begins at 7 PM and features Radio Realidad, about a community-run radio station in Honduras, and Big Noise Films’ documentary The Jena 6.
