Fall Fashion Bathsheba Nemerovski

Bathsheba NemerovskiBathsheba Nemerovski, a 35-year-old hairstylist at Sine Qua Non in Lakeview, buys very expensive or very cheap clothes and nothing in between. “Midpriced clothing is a waste of money,” she declares. “Everyone has it, there’s nothing interesting about it, and you’re not getting a bargain.” Asked to clarify her idea of “interesting,” she explained, “I like things that are almost bad but just to the point that they’re really good.” Not surprisingly, here she gravitated toward a challenging piece, a quilted, high-waisted skirt by Agga B, which Nemerovski appreciated for its unusual length and flirty front slit. Paired with a silver brocade jacket by Serpico, the look hits the sweet spot between covered-up and sexy. Nemerovski liked the cocktail hat by Marjorie Marshall Design because it was “unusual but not outrageous” and the magenta ruby bracelet by Erin Gallagher Jewelry for its heft. “I like jewelry that you know you’re wearing,” she says. Nemerovski has on what she calls her signature shoes, Costume National flats that go with just about everything. “They’re not really a flat-flat or a wedge, they’re not pointy or round—they look like they could be from any era.” She’s been wearing them for about four years and owns three pairs.

Chicagoland Whet Moser: Chicago has plenty of cameras to catch you running red lights, but not many to catch acts of violence in Cook County Jail--and the ones they have don't record anythig.
