Several people tried on Agga B’s unusual leatherlike lacquered twill skirt with pointy pockets, but only Jamie Hayes, 30, was game to be photographed in it, citing its “nice 40s feel.” Hayes, an accessories designer and fabric buyer for the handbag boutique 1154 Lill, says she thought the skirt’s architectural shape would make for a striking contrast with MelanieNicole’s loose, drapey halter top, which she was drawn to for its coral hue. She wore her own vintage 60s Vera belt, which adds a bit of edge to ladylike outfits, and burgundy pumps, heightening the postwar quality of the look. “I like that old Hollywood, strong, dramatic, feminine glamour,” Hayes says. Her cuff is a vintage piece of copper, which she wears to complement her skin tone.
