Ald. Lyle and her staff are unorganized and do everything in slow motion. City services are unevenly distributed, litter and pot holes are out of control. She needs to concentrate on the basics and try to recruit some younger more energetic staff and volunteers.
Alderman Lyle is a Daley administration patsy, and a shameless cheerleader for the Olympic boondoggle. She is a city council lapdog, scrounging for TIF scraps while rubber-stamping King Richie's agenda without any consideration or forethought. She is generally unresponsive to her constituents, choosing instead to enjoy her six-figure salary while putting the "part" into part-time.
While this makes her no different than most aldermen, she can rest assured she will face a worthy and well-funded adversary during the next election cycle.
Like all the black alderbugs, Lyle is more show than substance. She blames the current overtaking of what should have been solid middleclass black communities by drugs and gangs as something to blame on the failure of the federal governent to stem the tide of drugs into the nation. That is bullshit and we all know it. There are numerous open air drug markets in the 6th ward.
She is an appointed lapdog and always will be. It is not simply that she has voted against Daley maybe once in her legislative career it is her total lack o any attempt at real leadership in her ward. But then her ward is no different than any of the other wards in black communities in America. She sucks, but to her credit she has not been caught doing the kinds of amazingly stupid shit so many other black alderbugs have been caught doing. Well at least she has not been caught. Yay.
i live in the 6th ward but we call it the 1st ward (meaning 1 dollar because of the the dollar stores) so we are officially the dollar ward. please alderwoman clean up the ward. start with across the street from your office and 79th street. OMG get a walmart better then the 24 hour liquor stores and fast food (hot dog/polish) shops in the area.
