Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton tops himself with this adorably loopy Pixar animation that sends up consumerism, musicals, Apple computers, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the 29th century, human beings have long since abandoned earth for another galaxy, leaving behind WALL-E, a solitary robot janitor, to clean up a planet so trashed that heaps of compacted garbage tower as high as skyscrapers. When a spaceship arrives and deposits EVE, a trigger-happy probe, to assess the environment, the lonely caretaker falls hard. The movie's first half is largely free of dialogue, playing like silent comedy, while the second act offers a breathtaking tour of the cosmos. G, 96 min.

Sorry there are no showtimes for WALL-E on Saturday, November 21.
