As a travelogue this digital documentary offers rapturous vistas of the legendary Himalayan nation and rare glimpses of the treasures in its magnificent temples. Director John Bush, a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism, shows a spiritual attachment to the country and its people, explaining their religious traditions and iconography with elegant concision. However, his view of the current Chinese occupation is both biased and sketchy, bypassing some 1,400 years of convoluted Sino-Tibetan relations to summarize headlines from the last six decades. Endorsed by the Dalai Lama and narrated by his nephew Tenzin L. Choegyal, this delivers an impassioned plea to save Tibet's endangered culture but little new information. 87 min.
