Bankrolled by MoveOn.org and the Center for American Progress, this video documentary marshals 26 expert witnesses—most of them veterans of the CIA, the NSC, the Pentagon, the State Department, or the UN weapons inspection committee—to assail the Iraq invasion. Director Robert Greenwald (Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism) seems to be working on a shoestring, intercutting TV footage with an endless parade of talking heads, but his heavily credentialed commentators make a persuasive argument that the president's neoconservative advisers massaged the available intelligence to sell the war. The most damning sequences, skillfully edited by Kimberly Ray, annotate the president's 2003 State of the Union address and Colin Powell's subsequent appearance before the UN Security Council with testimony that suggests both speeches were lousy with lies. 83 min.
