A masterful film noir (1944) from Fritz Lang's rich American period, with Edward G. Robinson as a professor of psychology who learns by doing as he becomes obsessed with the image of a woman in a painting. I probably prefer Scarlet Street, Lang's follow-up with the same cast (Joan Bennett, Dan Duryea), but between one masterpiece and another who's to choose?

Sorry there are no showtimes for The Woman in the Window on Wednesday, June 19.
