Solid Warners swashbuckler from 1940, starring (of course) Errol Flynn and directed (of course) by Michael Curtiz. Studio boss Harry Warner had the disconcerting habit of using his adventure films as vehicles for his opinions on foreign policy: in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Errol was arguing for isolationism, but here the Spanish Armada is standing in for the Nazi U-boats, and Flynn can hardly wait to get his hands on 'em, if only Good Queen Bess/FDR will give him the go-ahead. With Brenda Marshall, Claude Rains, Donald Crisp, Flora Robson, and Alan Hale. 127 min.

Sorry there are no showtimes for The Sea Hawk on Sunday, March 14.
