Streeterville steak house in the Seneca Hotel; expensive meat, capable seafood, business crowd.

Our Review

Local photographer Mark Hauser's black-and-white prints line the entryway at this Streeterville steak house, located on the ground floor of the Seneca Hotel. Inside, the room is somewhere between cozy and claustrophobic, with low ceilings, warm terra-cotta walls, and dim lighting. The menu features a handful of classics like creamed spinach or broccoli with hollandaise to accompany a New York strip, prime rib with horseradish sauce, or a 24-ounce porterhouse. There's also a "Chicago cut" -- a bone-in 16-ounce fillet -- as well as some capable seafood specials. The bow-tie-clad servers are professional and efficient. The wine list is pricey but has some decent French and American reds.
