Peppered with nonsensical subplots and laughable melodrama, Tommy Wiseau's The Room has been called the "Citizen Kane of bad movies"—and continues to inspire fans a decade after its release. Coauthors Jason Geis, Brad Kemp, and Drew Kordik have taken Wiseau's soft-core-porn tale of a love triangle ("You are tearing me apart, Lisa!") and turned it into a quirky, self-aware, gut-busting musical. Matt Gottlieb is naive, oversexed, and ultimately ripped to shreds as Johnny (originally played by long-haired, glowering Wiseau), an all-too-trusting banker whose bored fiancee drops him for his best friend. —Marissa Oberlander
