The first Norwegian feature to get a U.S. theatrical release since Babette's Feast, this 1993 work by Hans Petter Moland is based on a true story, recounting the experiences of an older man who retires from the Norwegian merchant marine only a few weeks before the 1940 German invasion of his country. His only combat experience was 40 years earlier, but he goes ahead and trains a makeshift resistance army. With Espen Skjonberg, Rut Telleefsen, and Bjorn Floberg.

Sorry there are no showtimes for The Last Lieutenant on Saturday, November 7.
