The title of this 2009 indie drama refers to the nimbus left by a complete solar eclipse at the climax, and that turns out to be a pretty good symbol for the film, which promises more illumination than it delivers. The whisper-quiet story involves an unhappy couple (Michael Kelly, Jicky Schnee) who, hoping to repair their relationship, move into an old schoolhouse in the country; their neighbors include an earthy young blind woman (Ana Asensio) whose disability gets a vaguely mystical treatment commensurate with that of the aforementioned eclipse. Beautifully composed long shots of empty rooms establish the arty-farty tone, disrupted all too briefly by Rip Torn's commanding appearance as the man's weatherbeaten, philosophical father. Alexei Kaleina and Craig Macneill directed their own script.
