The 14th Chicago Lesbian & Gay International Film Festival continues Friday, November 18, through Sunday, November 20, at Chicago Filmmakers, 1543 W. Division. 27 Pieces of Me

A woman visits her older sister in Seattle, spends time with her roommate (a gay performance artist), and eventually discovers that her sister is a lesbian. A U.S. feature directed by Gerald Donahoe. (7:00)

Homocore Presents

Positive Faith

A documentary by Matthew Link about four HIV-positive people who regard themselves as Christian, to be shown with Brijetta Hall and Aaron Harberts's Voices Carry, a documentary about Chicago's Windy City Gay Chorus, and Ann Marie J. Bryan's Cutting Edge of a Free Bird (1993), a narrative about a girl who's black, deaf, and lesbian. (1:00)

Dyke TV

Producer and former Chicagoan Joanne Morton will present a compilation from the first year of a community-television program by and about lesbians. (3:00)

Dark Sun; Bright Shade

A Canadian video (1993) about two Chinese gay men, to be shown with short works by Peter Bowen, Daniel Bernstein, Kurt Heintz, Patricia Smith, Kirk Marcolina, and Stuart Gaffney. (5:00)

Shades of Black

A young photographer and athlete in a small town is seduced by an older woman from New York in a psychological drama (1993) about lesbian obsession directed by Mary Haverstock. (7:00)

Some of These Days

A short narrative by John Miller Monzon about the betrayal of one gay man by another, to be shown with short works by David Oiye, Alexander Kunja, and Reid Waterer. (9:00)

Encore Screening

A repeat screening of one of the festival's most popular programs, to be announced. (11:00)

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 20

Valentine's Day

An apocalyptic SF feature by Canadian filmmaker Mike Hoolboom about a future Canada plagued by civil war and poisoned gas, where people with AIDS are imprisoned, in which two women struggle to keep their love alive; with Babz Chula and Gabrielle Rose. (1:00)

Shades of Black

Chicago's Own

Three short works: Robert Colucci's When They Come Alive, Art Stone's Lying Together (1993), and Jennifer Lauren's From the Inside Out. (5:00)

One Adventure

A 1972 documentary feature by Pat Rocco about gay life in six European countries at the time, to be shown with an erotic short by Rocco made during the same period. Rocco will attend the screening. (7:00)
