Our Review

The server greeted us cheerfully with a litany of what they didn’t have: the pulled pork sandwich, scallops, and asparagus were out of stock; when she returned without our drink order, she informed us that they were out of the pinot grigio, too. They did have calamari, which were super-duper crunchy, served with a pleasing plum sauce with sesame seeds and a spicy kick. My companion called her portabella foccacia sandwich “boring” (but she has an issue with onions and peppers, so she requested the sandwich with neither, which might have been part of the problem). My shrimp tacos, served on slightly crunchy corn tortillas, came with three bright-tasting salsas (tomatillo, pico de gallo, and a spicy one) and had a savory, smoky flavor. The warehouse-like room has industrial lighting and tile-topped tables -- it's more of a bar with food than a restaurant. The music, a mixture of club hits and 90s alt-rock numbers, seems designed to please hip 30-somethings. When we arrived the place smelled a bit like dirty mop water, but that faded as it filled up.
