The diabolical Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) returns for one last game in this cheapo horror flick, the third installment in a franchise that's become a Halloween perennial. The series's signature set piece involves some poor schmuck who wakes up bolted into a lethal Rube Goldberg device that will rip him apart if he doesn't free himself in time--and he never does. The other attraction is some contrived story in which a person gets the opportunity to torture his enemies--and he always does. With its mix of urban legend, extreme gore, and foolish philosophical inquiry, the Saw movies are perfect for middle-school kids, but no one under 17 is admitted. How's that for a puzzle? R, 107 min.

Sorry there are no showtimes for Saw III on Saturday, November 7.
